Crossroads of Western Iowa is seeking a Director of Acquisition and Engagement. This position is an integral part of the human resources team providing hands on development, guidance, and problem solving to ensure successful human resources strategic outcomes.

The Director has stewardship over all initiatives focused on talent acquisition and employee engagement across the Company to ensure appropriate staffing levels, on-boarding, new hire orientation, development training, succession planning, employee relations and performance management strategies are achieved. In addition, the Director supervises, and mentors three Acquisition and Engagement Specialists representing three regions of the Company. The Director reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Primary Functions include:

Develop and drive Talent Acquisition strategy and implement the delivery of world class talent identification. Collaborate with leadership to set strategy and conduct talent acquisition planning and forecasting sessions.

Be adaptive to create innovative new practices for talent attraction and engagement.

Lead, coach, and develop three Acquisition and Engagement Specialists and project teams in complex recruiting environments to ensure successful execution of CWI’s recruiting plan.

Partner with Communications Team and Market Directors, to develop a high impact “brand” which includes a marketing strategy to promote CWI as an employer of choice, inclusive of social media, digital recruitment and other advertising channels. Assist in promoting the strategy throughout all markets.

Manage the progressive discipline and employee relations processes including conducting investigations, providing guidance and support, and resolution recommendations across the Company to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote an elevated level of employee morale and engagement.

Build and manage productive partnerships with the Company’s leadership team and hiring managers, using strong influencing skills to gain trust as a knowledgeable talent leader.

Provide support to employees and managers assisting them with organizational development, performance management and training needs to ensure we continue to have the highest performing motivated teams.

Develop programs that reinforce our culture and ensure our employees are engaged, motivated and driven.


Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Management or a related field.

Five to seven years of demonstrated leadership experience in Human Resources management experience.

PHR preferred but not required.
